Packing your RV for Yellowstone

Grand Tetons

Packing Hints:

1. MAKE A LIST. make your personal list from our suggestions. Use it to check off each item as you pack it.

2. INVENTORY the empty storage areas in your RV and decide what types of items go where. Put most frequently used items inside, and those others in the basement storage.

3. SHOPPING. review your list and check those items you have, and use the unchecked items to prepare a shopping list. To keep your costs down, do this in advance, use the web or discount stores to buy from.

4. CUT. most people bring too much stuff. That can cost in fuel, time and frustration. Review your list and make sure you are bringing only the essentials.

5. PACK. A few days before the trip, pack your items. Use lots of plastic bags to organize and keep things together. Make sure the family knows where things are.

We provide some helpful hints at packing for your Yellowstone trip. Of course, details will vary with each family, RV type, and how long you'll be on the road.

Keep in mind the Gross Weight limit of your RV and the hauling limits if you are pulling a trailer or 5th wheel. DO NOT overload to avoid extra fuel costs, possible poor handling of the vehicle and insurance problems if you have an accident. If you are concerned, weigh it at a truck stop.
